We Share Communion Together
Before His death, Jesus ate a meal with His disciples that is now referred to as the Last Supper. While they were together, Jesus introduced the basic elements that make up what is now called Communion. This practice of sharing bread and the cup in remembrance of Jesus’ death and resurrection became a regular practice for the Early Church. For centuries, sharing Communion together has unified the Church with Jesus and each other.
