Just like our previous session, the story of Ruth and Boaz takes place during the time of the judges. This was a dark time for the nation of Israel. During the time of the judges, it becomes abundantly clear that most of the people followed more after the ways of their Canaanite neighbors than after the ways of God. In stark contrast to this darkness, the story of Ruth shows the love and redemption that is possible for those who choose instead to do things God’s way.
