God meets with us through the life of Gideon, displaying His purpose through this judge of Israel. We jump ahead to peek in on the redemptive story of Ruth and Boaz—a beautiful picture of restoration by God’s redeeming love. God still speaks to us today as we listen to the life of the prophet Samuel and his childhood encounter with God. Finally, we come to the Israelites rejection of God as their King and their demand for a king so they could be like their neighbors. God granted their request, but they endured the consequences of choosing to be led by a human king. We see how God meets us where we’re at in life in order to call us to accomplish greater things. As we listen, He not only blesses our lives, but we are better positioned to be a blessing to others.
