Water baptism has a long history. John the Baptist baptized Jesus in the New Testament, and this discipline continues today. The Church baptizes people in water who have made the decision to follow Jesus. Baptism is a public celebration of our commitment to Christ. It’s a symbol of our unity with Him and His death and resurrection.
