Jonah Goes to Nineveh

The last session highlighted the life of Elisha the prophet. The prophets were messengers who relayed messages from God. They called the nation of Israel and its mostly evil kings to repentance. In 2 Kings 13, we see the death of Elisha. In the very next chapter, 2 Kings 14, we get a glimpse of a prophet named Jonah and his prophecy regarding Israel recovering certain territories. This session explores the book named after that same Jonah. In it, God asks Jonah to declare the destruction of Nineveh. But after a change in the hearts of the people of Nineveh in response to God’s message, He chose to forgive them and showed them His great compassion and mercy. But Jonah had other ideas.
