In this session, we’ll see a tense situation involving a woman caught in the act of adultery, her accusers, and Jesus. The charges were serious, and this woman’s life was in danger. Jesus’ authority was being tested. In such a charged moment, we might have frozen or bent under the pressure, but Jesus’ response is worth a closer look. His love and mercy were on display in an amazing way! This is encouraging for us because we need His love and mercy too. But Jesus went beyond giving mercy. He also extended to the woman an invitation to live a new life—a life free of the sins that controlled and degraded her.
